True, but in the public’s eye we all knew the placements of those cameras from the very beginning were not going to be enough. Tesla looks to be finally changing things in HW5, it’s more promising this time

Then there will be hw6. Tesla is like apple, every year some upgrade that actually is not needed and improvements in real life are minimal

That would be extremely disappointing if it’s just “another” reveal. There are tons of robotaxi in China ready and Tesla has just been approved for FSD hands free and pending approval for taxi service within Shanghai. So I don’t think it’s just a reveal, or hopefully not

@heyJohnEe hopefully you're right John, and robo taxis are close to production and implementation in some regions. Regulatory hurdles will remain in many areas for some time, and I think taxis will need to have the ability for human drivers to take over controls for a while still. My point was just that Aug 8 is a reveal, and we don't yet know how close to production Tesla is. Some RUclipsrs blindly trusted Elon years ago, saying how Tesla owners would be making so much money from autonomous driving, and we're still waiting many years later.

It’s definitely a hard call, but if you’re buying a model 3 performance, you’re buying it to drive it and track it. I would think HW5 is less important in this case

@mathieusturkenboom fsd does pretty well without lane markings, and will improve on pot holes

@@heyJohnEe Good advice John. I ordered mine on 4/23 but haven't got it yet. I know I will enjoy it and when AI5 comes out next year or later I will just trade in again. It's a little more expensive but if you enjoy driving and having the latest technology it's the only way to keep up.

@@MarkTomeh I would estimate about 1/3. After tax incentive you will pick up for around 48k. Drive it for 18 months and sell for 32k. That means it cost you about 900 per month to drive. Subtract for gas and you around 700 per month to drive the car you like. It may not be for everyone but it works for me, and historically i have held on to cars after I pay off the loan. I still have a 2014 V6 Accord that i bought new. I am trading in a M3LR for the M3P. After 2 years of owning it it comes out to about 1000 a month to drive but it was worth it. It's just what works best for you and what you want to drive.

That’s odd, I was never able to say car was mode and yet it to do it. It might be a specific command like “turn on car wash mode” that would activate it. Not natural language
